I love this Word of the Year stuff. This is my version of a resolution. Something positive to focus my intentions upon for the year.
In November I was already contemplating my choices and came up with Playful. I’m all in for fun in any form and focusing on light and easy sounded like a the perfect resolution for me.
But, then things began happening.
2020 has let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it intends to be much more energized, far more technicolor in experience.
And here we are. Starring down the barrel of a second word of the year.
These things, which will happen in 2020,
will give you a clue as to what that word is & why I chose it:
- Out Cold, book one in the Vampires of New Baltimore series, will be released February 7th.
- When I Was Weird, a story of self-acceptance, is my first children’s book, as well as my first exciting collaboration with my daughter, Sydney, who is illustrating the book. When I Was Weird will be released in mid-to-late March of this year.
- I’m currently working on an upper-middle grade/young adult book, inspired by the passion of a Kentucky teacher who found Cornerstone, created a curriculum about it for the entire 6th grade student body, and invited me to come speak at her school. More on the progress of that book to come!
- Book Two in the Vampires of New Baltimore Series is plotted and I’m hoping to get it finished (if not complete the series) this year.
- The Caste Series is plotted. I’d like to release at least one more book in that series this year too.
