Book A School or Business Event
I am an experienced public speaker with a passion for reaching out to students. I have several young adult/teen books, including The Cornerstone Series, as well as having a children’s book, When I Was Weird, and a middle grade book, Something Exquisite. I have done professional presentations for elementary, middle school, and high school students.
I have also written several adult books, including Weeds of Detroit, based on my life as a runaway teen. I was invited to present on this book at Leadership Macomb and Macomb Rotary and Henry Ford Hospital.
As a former runaway and drop-out who turned it around, I now hold a Bachelor’s Degree and highly value education. *Presentations are tailored to the group or to the teacher’s goals for his/her classroom.
Teachers can choose from individual classroom presentations or a school assembly. Various content options are available:
- I can lead a discussion about the content of the book you’ve chosen to be read by your students
- We can talk about my writing process and how students can be successful in their own writing endeavors.
- For older students, we can speak about the publication journey and the mechanics of publication
- We can discuss my past as a high school drop out and how important it is to remain in school to have a better chance at reaching career goals and the value of higher education.
- If you have an idea, feel free to speak with me about tailoring a presentation to your particular students.
